1. What is the function of film capacitors?
Film capacitors are generally used for high-frequency filtering, high-frequency bypass, first-order or second-order filter circuits.
Film capacitors have high insulation resistance and good heat resistance. It has self-healing and non-inductive properties. It has excellent high-frequency insulation performance. The capacitance and loss angle have nothing to do with frequency in a large frequency range, and change little with temperature, while the dielectric strength increases with the increase of temperature, which is difficult for other dielectric materials. Also film capacitors have high temperature resistance and low absorption coefficient.
2. How about the safety of film capacitors?
Because the conductive dielectric is coated on a transparent film or sandwiched between two films, the withstand voltage is very high, generally 600 volts DC, 300 volts AC. If there is no liquid, it will not cause a gas explosion, which is very safe.
