In the electronic component industry, we often see some special terms such as filtering, resonance, decoupling, etc. What do these special terms mean? Read this article to find out.
DC Blocking: Blocking the passage of DC current and allowing AC current to pass.
Bypass: Providing a low-impedance path for some harmful parts of the signal, filtering out the interference of the input signal, and providing a low-impedance leakage prevention path for high-frequency switching noise.
Decoupling: Removing the noise on the chip power supply. A capacitor act as decoupling has the same function as the bypass capacitor, except that the bypass takes the interference in the input signal as the filtering object, and the decoupling takes the interference of the output signal as the filtering object.
Coupling: The capacitor used in the coupling circuit is called the coupling capacitor, which is mostly used in the transmission and amplification of low-frequency signals to prevent the static operating points of the two-stage circuits from interacting with each other, playing the role of blocking DC and AC.
Filtering: Filtering out specific band frequencies in the signal to suppress and prevent signal interference.
Energy storage: The charge is collected by the rectifier, and the stored energy is transferred to the output of the power supply.
Timing: Used to control the size of the time constant, so as to realize the control of the charging and discharging time of the capacitor.
