The primary function of a dryer is to remove moisture from items, a process that requires appropriate temperature control. Excessive temperature can potentially lead to damage or other issues with the items being dried.
To ensure that the temperature during the drying process remains within a normal range, an electronic component capable of temperature measurement and control—known as a thermistor—becomes a crucial component of the dryer.
A thermistor is an electronic component that can sense temperature and convert it into an electrical signal. Its resistance changes with temperature variations, making it an ideal choice for temperature measurement.
In a dryer, the main task of the thermistor is to monitor the temperature inside the dryer in real-time and transmit this information to the control system. When the dryer starts operating, the heating element generates heat, gradually raising the temperature inside the dryer. Simultaneously, the thermistor continuously senses these temperature changes.
When the temperature reaches the set value of the thermistor, it generates an electrical signal, which is then transmitted to the control system. Upon receiving this signal, the control system operates according to a predefined program. If the temperature is too high, the control system instructs the heating element to reduce power, causing the temperature to decrease. Conversely, if the temperature is too low, the control system instructs the heating element to increase power, raising the temperature.
By continuously monitoring and adjusting, the temperature inside the dryer can be controlled within a normal range. It’s important to note that the accuracy and stability of the thermistor are crucial for the performance of the dryer. If the accuracy of the thermistor is insufficient or its stability is lacking, it may lead to misjudgments by the control system regarding the temperature conditions, thereby affecting the normal operation of the dryer. Therefore, when selecting a thermistor, attention should be paid to its brand, quality, performance, and reliability.
